Captured this yesterday evening around 7:30'ish. I loved the pink and periwinkle sky! This was looking south on College Drive in Ash Flat in front of Ozarka College.
Obviously God was feeling artistic! =)

River Rats
& I spent the afternoon at Spring River...one of my most favorite places to relax. Even though I was feeling pretty cruddy with allergies&/or sinus infection, I did enjoy the day. We simply don't ever go anymore - it has gotten a little too wild for us these days, but when we do, I remember why I love it. The cold water, and soothing sound of the waves. It is refreshing. The best time to go is when there is hardly anyone else around so it can be fully appreciated. We enjoyed visiting with Brooke & Rob. I really do love hanging out with them. I'm really proud of Brooke - she is a sensitive, smart and caring chick! I'm so happy they are in Arkansas now and we get to see them more. I hope someday they are able to move up here and raise their future family!

Scrapjacked - again!
I finished another scrapjacked lo last night. I must be melancholy lately, I seem to be using vintage materials and "shabbying" them up the last few days. Or maybe I was truly inspired by the effer this week nisa fiin and her vintage/shabby style. Whatever the reason, here is what I came up with. My love of sewing and scraping all rolled up into one! Scrapjacked #3 August
I have so many pictures of Alex and Molly. These are from the Fourth of July this summer. They are both a.dore.able! I have been wanting to use this cute little berry patch I found awhile back...reminds me of Strawberry Shortcake!
This is for the Genevieve Simmons Scrapjacked challenge #3. TFL

Unpubbed Challenge
Decided to do this lo without photographs. Instead I used some vintage illustrations from a magazine, along with some Love, Elsie. I also tried a 6x12 - something I have been wanting to do. I love, Love the way it turned out. TFL.

Mom & Joe's concert "date"
I think this is the best picture of Mom "Mimi" and Joe "jojo" from their big outing to see Sonny Burgess and the Pacers last Saturday night at Ozarka College. They had a ball according to Mom, and Joe was thrilled to get to go backstage and meet all the band members. Sonny even gave him a CD! I was so appreciative of Karla and Suellen for giving Joe star treatment and making him feel special. He is truly a one-of-a-kind kid! Of course, I think his Aunt Mimi is pretty cool too! ;0)

Daily something 8-15-07
Have not posted on here this week. oopsie, sorry mr. blog. I am - however - still doing my "daily somethings" and have enjoyed them thoroughly. This is my take on today. I spent most of my day with my camera at work shooting pictures of my co-workers, to update our website. I used my colored pencils and black pen...no more, no less. Sometimes I enjoy these quick, messy sketches that I have learned to enjoy and which I mush credit Kal Barteski's blog for saying "it's okay if it's messy, just enjoy." I love her art and ideas about art. Anyway, happy Wednesday! :~)

scrapjacked week 2 - Rick
This is my lift for Scrapjacked Week 2 - Meghan Dymock.
Rick is a family friend who passed away last week. I had taken pictures of him this summer when he visited Arkansas (one of his last wishes was to come see my family and spend time in Arkansas again). It was a hard journey from Tuscon, Arizona being sick and on oxygen, but he was determined! I had only met him twice in my life, but I have known him forever and he had a major impact on my entire family.
I enjoyed the process of this LO it was great therapy! I used a piece of black chipboard from my RV July kit and layered some torn papers and stamping on the entire background. The "FUN" transparent letters are my own creation and Creative Imagination stamps and some American Craft and MAMBI rubons on I had. I also had some Making Memories metal embellies that I used for the arrow. Oh, the button! - I was playing with a Sharpie and some glitter and glue. Added it at the end!
Journaling reads: Amazing how you barely know someone yet they make such a huge impact in your life. I think I met Rick in person only 2 or 3 times but I have always "known" him. Thankful to get to see him this summer. Even though he didn't feel well, he still was full of funny stories! He will forever be our Nintendo Wii coach!

Ruby & Molly
Got Ali Edwards "AEzine" in my inbox today and was inspired {as always} by her idea of the Daily Something. I have posted this in Ali's Flickr group by the same name. I took this at work. It was a great day! My good friend and BFF Karla's bday was today. We took her to eat a great lunch at the golf course and a couple of people I work with play guitar and mandolin and decided to have an afternoon watermelon and music break. I captured this picture of Ruby with her mandolin whom she lovingly refers to as Molly. Then we had the most divine homemade chocolate cake made by another friend I work with. Makes me feel so blessed to be surrounded by such talented people whom I consider to be great friends as well. 8.8.07 - Delightful!

Scrapjack Challenge
Okay, so I'm trying to do a few of these challenges from various blogs to work my brain a little since I've feeling kind of creatively blah as of late. Here is the Scrapjacked week #1 challenge. I did a 10x10 lo using some my minds eye "bohemia"papers, along with some thickers I've been dying to try out, and other bits of goodies from my stash. TFL!!!

Southern Regional Finals
YEE-HAW for Alex...She made it to the finals in the Stake Race class at the 4H Southern Regional Horse Show in Memphis! We are very proud of her {although completely worn out from the trip/sitting/early morning, etc}. She will be in the finals tonight. No pics yet, but will def take some today.
HERE is where the show is taking place the Shelby Show place located at the Agricenter. Wow, it is a nice facility. The funniest part are the six "Big Ass Fans" that are in the show arena. Yes, that is what they are called and they are big and they do get the air flowing. I'm completely fascinated by these fans and had to check out their website, only to find out their spokesperson is the "Fridge" William Perry, who played for the Chicago Bears back in the day. It was amazing with the heat index of 103, it was actually quite pleasant under these fans!
